KLASSEN

Posted: March 21st, 2022

Terry Roy Klassen passed away at his home in Panama on February 20, 2022 at the age of 67.

Terry was born in Roblin, Manitoba in 1954 to Joyce Leskiw and Earl Klassen and was the third of four siblings. After living in Calgary in his teen years, Terry moved back to Manitoba to briefly pursue a diploma in psychiatric nursing. There he met Janice Norrie, who he married in 1975. They moved to Medicine Hat in 1984. Their daughter, Andrea, was born in 1986.

Terry spent most of his working years in Medicine Hat at CASA Business Services, which he eventually bought. He became a Certified General Accountant in 2001.

In his free time he was an avid golfer at Connaught and Desert Blume. He also played guitar, sang and enjoyed walking in the Flats neighbourhood where he lived with his wife Cheri Mclean, who he married in 2006.

After retirement, Terry and Cheri moved to the tropical paradise of Panama. Terry always said he wanted to live where he could wear shorts every day.

Soon he was hiking with a local group and making wonderful lasting friendships. He also loved snorkeling to surrounding islands and listening and dancing to local bands on the weekends. He continued to golf whenever he could.

Terry lived a very full life and did everything he planned to do in his retirement years.

He is survived by Cheri and her children Ryan (Katherine) and Renessa, his daughter Andrea (Alanna) Klassen, siblings Brenda (Bill) Humberstone, Robert (Judy) Klassen and Harley (Sarah) Klassen and grandchildren Averie and Felix.

A memorial will be held at Cafe Verve, 1775 Dunmore Rd, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 27. All who knew Terry are invited to attend and share memories.
