MAXINE LEEDAHL

Maxine Leedahl passed away on June 2, 2022, at the age of 97 years. She will be remembered by her son Brian Leedahl, daughter Cathy Leedahl, daughter-in-law Joanne Notley, sister Nancy Cutting, sisters-in-law Lois Leedahl and Gladys Osborne, brothers-in-law Allan (Laurette) Leedahl and Gerry Kolen; her grandchildren Jacquie Leedahl, Shari Leedahl (Linus Clark), David Leedahl, Stacey Leedahl (Cam McRuvie), Jillian Bocking and Heather Bocking; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Maxine was predeceased by her husband Cliff in 2002, son Doug Leedahl in 2018, grandson Jeff Leedahl in 2022; her parents Archie and Lillian Cross, sisters Dorine White and Elaine Spence, their spouses Don White and Lisle Spence and brother-in-law Jack Cutting. She was also predeceased by Cliff’s sisters Violet Wood and her husband Ken, Marie McConnell and her husband Ross, and Delores Kolen; Cliff’s brother Wilf Leedahl and brother-in-law George Osborne. Maxine was the eldest daughter of Archie and Lillian Cross of Fiske, Saskatchewan. She attended secretarial school in Saskatoon and that is where she met and married Cliff and raised their three children. Maxine enjoyed gatherings with family and friends; Christmas being her favorite holiday. Max and Cliff enjoyed camping and in retirement they spent summers travelling in their 5th wheel and winters were spent “down south” with family and friends. Maxine will be remembered for the great homemaker and cook she was, and her talent for all kinds of needlework, knitting, crocheting, quilting and sewing. The family would like to thank all of Maxine’s caregivers at Timberstone Mews in Red Deer for their care and kindness. There will be no funeral by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
