July 18, 1937 ~ June 22, 2022

Joan Wutzke, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the age of 84 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey and son-in-law, Lyle Anderson. Joan leaves to cherish her memory her son, Murray (Bernadette) Wutzke and his children, Caitlyn (Jesse), Amanda (Chuck) and Chase; daughter, Sandie Anderson, her children Kyle (Kayla), Josh (Anna), Jon (Kassia) and Clark (Liz). She was very fond of her great-grandchildren and looked forward to frequent visits with Misha, Daxton, Luke, Maddox, Reid, Makenna and Maisy. Joan was a lifetime resident of Medicine Hat and will be missed by her brother John (Carol) MacLaren and sister, Rosella (Dave) Morin who also survive her, along with Harvey’s extended family including brothers, Ralph and Rueben (Violet) and all their families. She treasured her family, taking great pride in all their accomplishments. Joan and Harvey leave a legacy of love which we all can aspire to in our own relationships, a marriage of 63 years, a loving family and a pursuit of all things good in life. Joan was lead through her life by her faith in God and the community that she built through the church. She enjoyed hosting family and friends in her home and picnics in the park. We will fondly remember her famous baked goods and delicious cooking, often including fresh vegetables and pickles from their amazing garden. The family wish to thank the paramedics, Dr. Parks, the exceptional nurses and administrators in the emergency department of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for their sensitive and compassionate care. A Private Graveside Celebration of Joan’s life will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Sunday, June 26, 2022, with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. One Condolence for “JOAN WUTZKE”

  1. Betty Schaufele (Martin) says:

How very sad to hear of Joan’s passing. We were best friends in public and high school. I last saw Joan in 1989 when I visited Medicine Hat to see my family. We had a wonderful friendship and lasted even thought we were very far apart. Rest In Peace my friend.
