With sorrowful hearts the family of Helen (Neufeld) Regier announce her somewhat sudden passing on July 23, 2022 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 87 years. She will be missed more than we can begin to put into words.
Helen was born on her Grandmother’s farm by Wymark on October 11, 1934, the eldest of William and Elizabeth Neufeld’s 13 children. Helen attended school in Wymark and enjoyed her schooling there, taking much pride in her studies. It was in Wymark that she met Johnnie Regier and they were married in October of 1954. They were blessed with 5 children moving many times over the years to accommodate John’s employment. Together they lived in various places in Saskatchewan and Alberta, including Wymark, Maple Creek, Merrid, Gouldtown, Herbert, Bow Island, Grimshaw, Castor and Medicine Hat, which is where she resided at the time of her passing.
Helen is survived by her five children, their spouses and 15 grandchildren, Deborah (Wilf) Frey their children, Nathan (Kerri); Natalie (Brodie) Kalamen and Kailey (Joz) Barendregt; Darcy (Katherine) Regier, their children, Jonathan (Natasha), Justin (Christina), Jarrett; Desmond (Valerie) Regier, their children Erin (Kyle) Nuyens, Mason (Andrea) Regier, Jillian Regier, Alison (Dule) Cavic; Daryl (Cammie) Regier, their children Devon (Amber) Regier, Olivia Regier, Emerson Regier; Denise (Clayton) Fode and their children Reece Fode and Vance Fode. Helen is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren, Kyla, Madison and Rielynn Frey; Evangeline, Kaden and Judah Kalamen, Ella Regier, Jasper, Elsa, Aida and Chance Nuyens; Milijana Cavic; Stellan Barendregt; her siblings Jack (Norma) Neufeld, Betty Wiens, Bob Neufeld, Marion Bymoen, Esther (Philip) Wall, Peter (Margie) Neufeld, Sadie (Stan) Hiebert, Archie (Sylvia) Neufeld, Judi (Randy) Taylor, Kathy Neufeld (John Fehr), sisters-in-law, Martha Neufeld and Sylvia Regier, brother-in-law Claire Bymoen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen is predeceased by her husband John Regier, parents Elizabeth and William Neufeld, mother and father-in-law, Abram and Elisabeth Regier, siblings, Susan McPhee and Bill Neufeld; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Neufeld, Bonnie Neufeld, Mary Sommerfeld and Erna Letkeman; brothers-in-law, Pete Wiens, Jake Regier, Art Sommerfeld and Larry Letkeman, as well as one nephew, Clinton Wiens.
The funeral Service will be held Friday, August 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Trailview Alliance Church, Swift Current Sask; internment will precede the funeral service at the Schantzenfeld Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
