Linda Hamel, 74, of Medicine Hat passed away on January 23, 2023, in the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, of pneumonia brought on by Covid 19, with her husband and daughter by her side. She is survived by her husband, Andy Hamel; daughters, Cheryl (Marc) Andrews and Darlene Day (Doug Hammel); eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two brothers; her half brothers and sisters; one sister-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her mother, Mary (Cozicar) Lanferman, father, Colin Boudreau; four sisters, her half brothers, two brothers-in-law and Andy’s parents, Roger and Germaine Hamel. Linda was born on January 17, 1949 to Colin and Mary Boudreau in St. Paul, Alberta. After high school, Linda went to Edmonton and took a hair styling course. In 1970, Linda and Andy Hamel met, fell in love and were married July 29, 1972 at St. Paul, Alberta. Linda had two children from a previous marriage, Cheryl and Darlene. In 2009, Linda retired and spent her time relaxing, crocheting, playing bingo and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Naveed Arif celebrant.
