It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lee Larry Weiss on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the age of 55. He will be deeply missed by his father, Larry Weiss; brother, Lyle (Renae) Weiss; nephews, Cobey, Bodee and Ryker Weiss; brother-in-law, Craig Murphy; sister-in-law, Shannon Murphy; niece, Arianna Murphy-Steed; along with numerous loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Lee was predeceased by his wife and best friend, Corin Murphy; mother, Linda Weiss; brother, Scott Weiss; fathers-in-law, C. Graham Murphy and Gordon Thompson; and his mother-in-law, Patricia Thompson.
Lee was born on September 8, 1967, in Medicine Hat, grew up in Elkwater Alberta and graduated from Irvine High School. After trying a few different jobs in and around Medicine Hat, he accepted a job on the trail crew in Bow Valley Provincial Park in Kananaskis, and then with the Nordic Centre in Canmore where he worked until his retirement in 2020. Canmore is where he and Corin began their lives together.
Lee loved the mountains and the life that he and Corin created, he loved the hikes with Skipper-T and Rowdy dog, he loved music, had a great sense of humour and he absolutely loved and cherished his family and the friends he made along the way.
In keeping with Lee’s wishes, there will be a small Private Service at a later date. Those who wish to remember Lee with a donation, may do so to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to your local SPCA. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Lee, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
