RICHARD GROPP 1959 ~ 2024 With great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Wallace Gropp, (Rico/Ric) of Medicine Hat, on Friday, March 29th, 2024 at the age of 64 years. This came after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Swift Current, raised in Webb and later moving to Medicine Hat for his high school years. Ric was always surrounded by a solid group of friends. Ric worked as a carpenter all his life. He took great pride in always doing the job right. Ric was predeceased by his loving parents, Wallace (Wally) and Helen Gropp; nephew, Todd Smyth. Ric leaves to cherish his memory his much-loved Tammy Regner and her family; brother, Dave (Jacquie); sisters, Carol (Doug) and Diane (Brian); nephews, Scott (Heidi) and Shaun (Cheryl); nieces, Lauri Ann (Jason) and Heather (Dan); as well as great nephews and nieces, Josh, Wyatt, Andrew, Shaylin, Paige and Casey. A Graveside Service will be held at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery, 5160 Gershaw Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB, on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2024. Thank You to Dr. Mastel, palliative care team, homecare nurses, Clara and team and St. Joseph’s Home.     Deepest condolences to Rick’s loved ones. I remember going to school with Rick in Gull Lake and had met up with him on different occasions in Medicine Hat. He was always a nice person. Left this earth too soon.
