IRENE KOCH 1937 – 2024

Mrs. Irene Koch (Riffel) of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Raymond Koch, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the age of 86 years. She leaves to cherish her memory eight children, Annette (Brent) Fraser, Kathleen (Warren) Sehn, Cynthia (Blair) Bosch, Kenneth (Janice) Koch, Glenn (Lynnette) Koch, Keith (Janet) Koch, Robert ( Denise) Koch, Dennis (Mavis) Koch; twenty one grandchildren, Casey (Sarah) Lodoen, Amie (Jimmy) Lamb, Amanda Lanoway, Derrick (Tanya) Sehn, Tammy (Jonathan) Buckle, Dustin (Jenn) Bosch, Lisa (Armand) LeBlanc, Tyson Bosch, Kodie (Angela) Koch, Kenny (Yuliia) Koch, Jade (Tyler) Koch, Leslee (Nick) Koch, Sarah (Clayton) Sarauer, Alicia (Shaun) Hellman, Jeremy (Ashley) Koch, Dylan (Jess) Koch, Tyrone (Amy) Koch, Wyatt (Morganne) Koch, Denton (Katelyn) Koch, Colton (Kassidy) Koch, Jessica (Landon) Brosnikoff; twenty five great grandchildren, Cole, Kailey, Lexie, Landen, Shea, Tucker, Shelby, Mason, Tanner, Jordan, Justin, Ty, Chase, Alix, Mya, Jaxon, Jordyn, Devlynn, Karsten, Kesler, Nevaya, Gavin, Gracie, Callum, Kenley; sister, Louise (Thomas) Sandau; Raymond’s brothers and  sisters and their families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Irene was predeceased by her parents Vincent Riffel and Rose (Bob) Michels, parents-in-law John and Natalie Koch; sister Margaret (Donald) Reinboldt; great grandchild Angel LeBlanc.  Irene was born on October 17, 1937, in Prelate, Saskatchewan.  She married her beloved Raymond on June 7, 1954, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan where they farmed in the area and were business owners. They retired to Medicine Hat in 1983. Irene was very strong in her faith and Blessed Virgin Mary was very special in her life.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, playing cards, crafts, and singing.  She loved her family dearly and cherished her visits with friends.

Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Wednesday April 17, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. with Fr.
