HASKELL, ROGER CHARLES Dec 22, 1946 Mar 17, 2025 It is with sadness of heart that we announce the passing of our brother, Roger Charles Haskell, who died on Monday, March17, 2025 in Calgary, AB at the age of 78.
Roger was born in Medicine Hat, AB to parents Harold and Ruth Haskell. Roger is survived by his three sisters and one brother. Joyce Ayers of Calgary, Beverly Haskell of Calgary, Karen (Wayne) Jackson of Regina and Doug (Jane) Haskell of Medicine Hat, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rogers school days began in Horsham, SK, where track and field was a passion. His High School years were completed in Medicine Hat before graduating from U of Calgary with a Phys. Ed degree. He had numerous teaching jobs in Calgary, Airdrie and Foremost, AB with a longstanding position of subteaching in Calgary to finish off his career. Even before retiring he enjoyed traveling (NYC and Vancouver Island were favorites) down hill skiing, cycling, and photography. He was eager to challenge anyone to a scrabble game and often was the winner!
He enjoyed all types of restaurants and was known for being a conversationalist at places such as Restaurant 56, various Chinese Restaurants and Village Ice Cream. He was honoured to be invited to have his photo featured on their pint tub!
We give our thanks to PLC unit 42 and Cedars Villa Extendicare for their support and dedication to his care in the last months of his life.
Roger was predeceased by his parents, a brother-in-law, a nephew, numerous aunts and uncles, several cousins and friend Ken Gartly. Expressions of sympathy are gratefully received at Choice Memorial Funeral Services in Calgary.
Internment will take place at a later date at Hillside Cemetery.

One Condolence for “HASKELL, ROGER CHARLES”

  1. David Martin says:

So sorry to hear about your loss. I often wondered where the Haskell family had gotten to. I have often thought where my friend Joyce had gotten to. Iam living in Red Deer with my brother Allan and my sister Shirley is in lethbridge. It was last year we lost my baby sister Merna. Again my deepest condolences. I remember when we all went to the church at Horsham !!
