RICHARD “DICK” COLEMAN October 3, 1937 – September 4, 2025
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard “Dick” Coleman at the age of 87 years on September 4, 2025. Dick had a true passion for riding, roping, and rodeo. He also enjoyed a long career in construction while helping to build many roads across the region. He was happiest when surrounded by his friends and family. Dick loved a good story, a good laugh, and any excuse to be out doing what he loved. His big heart and easygoing nature will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew him. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kerry (Alan) Godkin and their children, Byron (Del-Rae) Godkin and their children, Natalia, Alessia, and Barrett, Brad Godkin, and Kallie Godkin; daughter, Janice (Gordon) McKie and their children, Garrett McKie and Jess (Natasha) McKie; Brent’s son, Travis Coleman and his two children, Brent and Leah; brother-in-law, Leonard Norman; sister-in-law, Connie (Bob) Anderson, as well as several nieces and one nephew. Dick was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Velma Coleman; son, Brent Coleman; father, Lloyd Coleman; mother, Irene Coleman; brother, Lloyd Jr. Coleman; and sister, Lil Hinrup. Dick’s family would like to express a special thank you to Meadowlands Retirement Community and staff, Kidney Care Centre and staff, Dr. Jeraj, and the staff at Good Samaritan’s South Ridge Village for their exceptional care. The Memorial Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB, on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating.
