GAIL SNYDER 1948 ~ 2026

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Gail Debra (Lippert) Snyder, loving wife of the late Larry Snyder and mother of Jamie Petreman and Jodi Snyder passed away at the age of 77.

Gail was born on March 17, 1948, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to Andrew and Grace (Osborne) Lippert. Gail retired in 2017 from Renfrew Educational Services. Throughout her working career, she held many different jobs but was always drawn back to working with children. On November 29, 1969, she married Larry Richard Snyder the love of her life and they raised two daughters, Jamie and Jodi.

Gail had a passion for children, but her greatest passion was for her family; supporting her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in their many and varied endeavors.  She loved to spend time with her six grandchildren and her three great grandchildren, evident through the sparkle they always brought to her.  She was also an avid music lover enjoying many of the old Rock and Roll greats.  Gail also enjoyed drawing, playing guitar, baking, needle point and collecting things she was passionate about (Elvis, Orcas, Wolves, Carousal Horses and all things Disney). Gail will be remembered for her boundless energy, strength, kindness and generosity.  She had a positive impact on the many people who’s lives she touched.

Gail was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Lippert and her mother, Grace Lippert; an infant sister; her sister, Sue Knight; brother-in-law, Art Knight and sister in-law, Dyana Lippert.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jamie (Todd) Petreman, Jodi Snyder (John Stoll); six grandchildren, Laurence Petreman, Cameron Petreman (Savannah), Tanner Petreman, Jessica Snyder-Starlight Turcott (Tyghe), Jenny Stoll, Jade Stoll and three great grandchildren, Dovovon and Datura Turcott and Parker Petreman; two brothers, Randy Lippert and Rodney (Deb) Lippert; sister-in-law, Sylvia Pinsent; two nieces, Lorraine Pinsent and Barb Madore and two nephews, Wayne and Chris Pinsent; her special friend, Marlyn Noyes and many cousins.

Since moving back to Medicine Hat, Gail so enjoyed getting to know the ladies at Chinook Village and loved their nightly card games.

In keeping with Gail’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.  A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium.  To leave a message of condolence you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com.
