COLLEEN DEHMKE September 7, 1958 ~ March 8, 2026
Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Colleen Helen Dehmke, passed away in Medicine Hat on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the age of 67 years.
Colleen was born on September 7, 1958, in Biggar, Saskatchewan, to Walter and Joan Dehmke. She later moved to Saskatoon where she attended the University of Saskatchewan and Kelsey Institute, training to become a Registered Nurse.
Throughout her career, Colleen cared for others through her work in pediatrics, orthopedics, long-term care and elder abuse prevention, advocating for and supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Colleen raised her four daughters in Saskatchewan and Hanna, Alberta, later living in Sylvan Lake before retiring to Medicine Hat. In retirement, she pursued her love of travel, becoming a certified travel agent and exploring destinations such as Mexico, Germany, Greece and the Panama Canal. She also enjoyed time spent on Vancouver Island house-sitting and taking in the beauty of the coast.
Colleen loved painting, traveling and spending time outdoors. She especially enjoyed walking with friends and cheering on her grandchildren at their sports, proudly embracing her role as a “ringette grandma.”
Colleen is survived by her children: Heather (Ben), Bonnie, Jenny (Kyler) and Elizabeth (Nolan) as well as her grandchildren: Jetaime, Samuel, Ellie, Danton and Leighton. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Joan Dehmke and her sister, Brenda.
She will be remembered for her caring heart, strength and the love she shared with her family and friends.
