VALERIE HOPKINS April 25, 1938 ~ April 21, 2026
Valerie ‘Val’ Hopkins, beloved partner of the late Jack Wolfe, passed away in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, just four days before her 88th birthday. Val’s memory will be cherished by her daughters, Deborah and Glenda; grandchildren, Glenn and Morgan and great-granddaughter, Mikayla. She is also survived by three sisters, Jackie, Phyll and Johanne as well as all those in the Wolfe family. Val was born in Liverpool, England to proud parents, Thomas and May Goodyear. On October 6, 1972, she immigrated with her family to Canada, initially living in B.C. before moving to Medicine Hat with Jack in the late 90’s. Val was a proud member of the R.C.L. Ladies Auxiliary, volunteering many hours and giving selflessly of her time for each of their endeavours. She also enjoyed her time volunteering to provide care for senior’s and was a long-time member of the Good Sam Club. Whether RVing or travelling the world, Val was never one to have trouble keeping busy! She will be forever loved and remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Val’s life will be honoured and her memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral. Those wishing to remember Val may do so through a donation to your local legion’s Poppy Fund.
