LONA YOUNG 1943 ~ 2026 Lona D. Young, beloved wife of the late Larry James Young, passed away in Medicine Hat on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 82 years. Lona leaves to cherish her memory one son, James (Kira); one daughter, Jody (Allan) as well as two grandsons, Cameron and Matthew. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Natalie Ziegler as well as a brother, Richard Ziegler. Lona was born in Medicine Hat on July 23, 1943. She enjoyed her career as an educator, teaching elementary school for many years and creating many life-long friendships along the way. A Come & Go Celebration honouring Lona’s life will be held in the Milestone Room at the Reflections Reception Facility, 937 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, May 28, 2026, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Please dress casual and use the north side building entrance.
