BOYDEN Keith

Posted: September 15th, 2012

After valiantly struggling back from a car accident in June, Keith Boyden, beloved husband of Ina (Catarina) of Lethbridge, beloved father of Kelly Alan of Ottawa, Kenton William (deceased) and grandfather to Jacob, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the age of 71 years.

Keith also leaves to mourn Brian (Hughena) of Halifax, Daryl (Terry) of Sherwood Park, Myrna Horak of Calgary, Gary (Eileen) of Creston, Neil (Khym) of Lethbridge, Nadine (Don) of Lethbridge, Pat (Theresa) Sherman of Kamloops, thirteen brothers and sisters-in-law on Ina’s side of the family and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews. Keith was predeceased by his parents Peter and Violette, his twin sister Lorainne, his brother Alan and wife Janine, brother-in-law Carl Horak and his niece Susan Sherman.Keith grew up on the family farm in Wilson Siding, graduated from St. Francis High School and joined the RCMP in 1962. He and Ina were married in Chilliwack in 1964 and were gifted with two sons, Kelly and Kenton. Keith served in numerous locations in B.C. and Ottawa where after twenty years of service he retired in 1992. After living in Saskatoon and Winnipeg, Keith and Ina returned to Lethbridge to be near his beloved parents and family.Keith was a man of faith devoted to his family, friends and community and a man of his word. He believed in giving back and was an enthusiastic volunteer with numerous organizations, in particular, the Knights of Columbus of which he was a life long member, Lethbridge Curling Club, and Canadian Blood Services where his 165 donations impacted the lives of 495 individuals. He would take great pride in wearing his red serge when asked and was planning to serve at a citizenship court ceremony in October. With joy he and Ina served in various parish ministries in their church, the center of both their lives. Like his father he could build and fix almost anything and was often called upon to do so for others. He was loved and loving and generous to a fault with his time. How he shall be missed!
