Sherry Lynn Handsaeme died suddenly on May 30, 2015, doing what she loved. She was biking with a friend, training for the San Francisco Alcatraz triathlon (June 7, 2015).

Over the years Sherry excelled in the field of accounting and finance. In 2012 she received her Masters of Business Administration from Athabasca University. She was most recently employed as Finance Manager at Cargill Feed and Nutrition.
When not working Sherry spent her time running, swimming, biking, or with her friends and family. She was an accomplished triathlete; having finished the IronMan Canada in 2006, and over 150 other races, marathons and triathlons.
Besides her husband Jack Handsaeme, Sherry is survived by her parents: Waine and Effie Madson, her two daughters: Rikki (Robi) Chakrabarti, and Danielle (Lance) Friesen, her two step-daughters: Kristin (Cam) McIntosh and Jennifer (Shylo) Harvey, her five grand-children: Caleb (8) and Samuel (4) Chakrabarti, Cashis Harvey (1), Makenna (7) and Brexten (1) McIntosh, her two brothers: Dean (Tanya) Madson and their children Kevin and Ashley, and Mark Madson and his son Alexandre, and her grandmother Dorothy Madson.

In lieu of flowers Jack has requested that we would continue Sherry’s garden over the years. Please consider gift certificates to Green Haven Garden Centre for bedding plants so Sherry’s garden of roses, petunias, and other bedding plants can continue to grow and bring sunshine to us all.
