Clarence Johannes Jockims of Lethbridge, beloved husband and soul mate of the late Eleanor Katherine Jockims, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 21, 2017, at the age of 81 years. Born November 12, 1935, the eldest child, to Emilie and Waltraud Jockims in Swift Current, Sask. Beloved Father to Kevin (Sandra), Terri (Bob) and Rosalie (Dave); cherished Papa to Kayli (Jordan), Kris (Vanessa), Jennifer, Sean, Samantha (Shaun), Shelby and Travis (Alex); brother to Larry (Gail), brother-in-law to Doreen, Marilyn (Harvey), Don and Dale (Clara), Uncle and cousin to many, friend to all. Also left behind to treasure his memory is his special friend Faye Cain. Besides his loving wife, Clarence was pre-deceased by his parents, brother-in-law’s Bob Andrew and Jim Keller and sister-in-law Flo Finkbeiner. Dad spent his working career plumbing and was well respected in the community as owner operator of LJ Mechanical. His guidance shaped many careers in the industry including his own children and grandchildren. In 1971, Dad and Mom moved to Lethbridge with their 3 kids and made it their home. They loved their many friends and being involved in the community. Family holidays were spent enjoying the great outdoors, camping, boating, quading and snowmobiling just to mention a few favorites. We were lucky enough to go to Disneyland as a family before us kids grew up and started families of our own. Dad was always involved with organizations including Kinsmen, CNIB, Heart to Heart, Sons of Norway and Nord-bridge Seniors Center. Most recently he joined a bowling league that he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved his Wednesday lunch outings with his group of dear friends. Dad and Mom travelled extensively during their retirement, including trips to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and cruising to Alaska and the Panama Canal. They always made new friends wherever they went. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Friday May 26, 2017 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street, S., Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Glenda Wert, officiating, light reception to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. Those who wish, donations can be made to Nord-bridge Seniors Center, 1904 13th Ave N, Lethbridge AB., or a local charity of your choice.
