TURNER, Marjory
Posted: September 25th, 20171937 – 2017
With sadness in their hearts, a family says goodbye to their cherished mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Marjory “Marj” Turner of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, September 18, 2017, at the age of 80 years.
Beloved wife of the late Bud Turner, Marj was born in Edmonton but grew up and completed her education in Calgary, then moved to Lethbridge in 1967. While Marj and Bud traveled extensively, one of her happiest trips was their family cruise at Christmastime in 1994.
Marj had many hobbies to keep her busy and active including gardening, stamp collecting, sewing, and quilting. Marj enjoyed giving back the community and she was a volunteer knitter for the Chinook Regional Hospital. Her love of gardening brought joy to others as Marj won several horticultural awards for her beautiful gardens throughout the years. Her daughters, grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren were so special to her…she loved them each beyond measure.
Although she lost the love of her life, Bud, too soon, Marj is survived by her daughters Debbie (Lloyd) Boehr of Lethbridge, and Patty Reid of Calgary. Marj is also remembered lovingly by her grandchildren Michelle (Brad Vant Land) Reid-Houle, Cody Reid-Houle, Cole (April) Iwaasa, Bryson (Kassi) Iwaasa, and Levi (Sarah Douglas) Iwaasa, as well as her ten great-grandchildren whom she adored. Marj also leaves behind her niece Diane (Bill) Ashby and their daughters Melissa and Sara.
As one of her final wishes, Marj requests there be no black attire worn when family and friends gather to remember her life that was so well-lived and full of happy memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Eva Stanley officiating.
