Posted: February 27th, 2018Monica Mary Chief Body (Natoyipiksaki – Holy Bird Woman) of Standoff, AB passed away after a lengthy illness on February 19, 2018. Monica leaves to mourn her loving daughter and best friend Cindy Marie Chief Body (Gus Big Smoke); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, cousins and their families.Monica was born on February 27, 1946 in Cardston, AB to late Joe & Kate Chief Body. Monica met late Regis Bruised Head and had one daughter Cindy Marie Chief Body. After separating she remained single throughout the rest of her life. She cared for her parents until their passing. Monica was a devoted mother, who is the last of a generation. She enjoyed traveling to various Indian Days always participating in Hand Games throughout Canada & the US. She was affiliated with Blood Tribe Elder’s group, an LPN at the Blood Indian Hospital, enjoyed playing bingo, loved celebrating holidays throughout the year. She also loved artwork. She was a devoted Catholic who liked to travel to Lake Saint Ann with family when she could every year.Family Service will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME – 703-13 Street North Lethbridge, AB, Wake service to follow 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm at White Calf Hall Standoff, AB, Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 11:00 am Thursday March 1, 2018. Interment at St. Catherine’s cemetery.
