DICKOUT
Mr. Allen Edward Dickout, beloved husband of Connie Dickout and father to Jennifer (Mitch) Thomson and Lesley (Jordan) Dickout passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on March 20, 2018 at the age of 66 years. Allen’s memory will be cherished by his grandson’s Bradyn, Jackson, Dylan and Daniel as well as by his granddaughters Mikayla and Miya. Al will be lovingly remembered by his sisters: Beverly Pecht, Brenda Boe, Judy Baker, Debbie Lachuk and Peggy Kipnik as well as by brothers Gordon Dickout and Larry Batalden and their families. He will be dearly missed by his extended family and many friends.Al is predeceased by his and Connie’s parents, a brother and three brothers-in-law as well as by two nephews and an infant son. He was born March 16, 1952 to parents Jolane and Edward Dickout. He and his eight siblings, grew up on the northside. Al married Connie, his high school sweetheart in 1971. He was very proud of their girls and grandchildren. He took interest in their lives and worked hard to provide for and support them. Al was a journeyman millwright by trade. He built, maintained and repaired food processing equipment, wind turbines and a variety of mechanical systems at Catelli’s, York Farms, Cascade Fertilizers, Select Turkey and Maple Leaf Foods. He loved his trade and earned the respect of his colleagues.Al beat cancer twice and on-line poker players many times. He enjoyed camping and mountain air, the joy of catching the most fish, spending time with friends and the freedom of riding a motorcycle. He was a good cook and master of the BBQ. He relished a cold beer and liked the simpler things in life. He was always willing to help sort out a mechanical or plumbing challenge for friends and family. Al treasured his grandchildren and close relationships. Treasured memories will be shared in the Celebration of Al’s Life, which will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 24th at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 St. N., Lethbridge, AB.Friends and relatives are invited together with the family for food and refreshments in a time of sharing.
