Evelyn was born Evelyn Gertrude Grams on July 13, 1936 to Edward and Phyllis Grams in Lang, SK. She was their third child and the first daughter. She spent her childhood years living on the farm, helping to tend to the house, the garden and her younger siblings. In the mid-1950s, she moved off the farm to Regina and started working, where she met her beloved husband Jim in 1958. One year later, Evelyn and Jim were married and they enjoyed many years together building a life. Evelyn always cherished spending time with family, loved travelling to new and familiar places on bus tours, and strongly valued her relationship with the Lord. Towards the end, Evelyn was diagnosed with dementia, and though she was robbed of her physicality she retained her sense of humour, fashion and love of her family.
Per Evelyn’s wishes, a Memorial Service will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd. West, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Richard Williams officiating.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Evelyn, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by Jim and their family, and by all else who knew her.
