YALOWEGA, Alex
Posted: April 13th, 2018It is with great sadness to say with his family by his side, Alex Yalowega peacefully passed on Wednesday April 11/18 at the age of 94 1/2 years.
Alex was predeceased by his parents Steve and Anna (nee Shewchuk); step mother Julia Yalowega (nee Chudo); Brothers Bill, Johnny and Andy Yalowega, Sister Marge Bryant (nee Yalowega) and by daughter in law Janet Yalowega (nee Bateman).
Alex leaves behind his wife and partner of 64 years Joyce Yalowega (nee Buchinski); son Ed Yalowega of Lethbridge; granddaughters: Veronica Heninger (nee McNutt) and great grandchildren Aiden, Madison and Skyler of Lethbridge; Chelsea Berrigan (nee McNutt) and great grandchildren Kalvin, Arya of Okotoks as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alex was born in Sturgis Saskatchewan August 1/1923. Worked in the forestry industry and farm laborer around Saskatchewan until moving to Lethbridge in 1945.
Here he worked on road construction at various places in Alberta and BC until finding his place with the Sick’s Lethbridge Brewery until retirement in 1988.
Alex will be sorely missed by all.
A Reception for family and friends will be held Saturday April 14 from 1-3 PM at Country Kitchen Catering 1715 Mayor Magrath Drive, Lethbridge, located in lower level entrance door, Eastside of the Keg Restaurant.
