John Voogel

1961 – 2018

Mr. John Voogel passed away in Lethbridge AB, on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 57 years. John Theodore was born in Brampton, Ontario on June 6, 1961. At the age of 15, John left home and made his way West. From there John forged an impressive career eventually finding his niche with the Ledcor Group. John was a strong leader, mentor and an innovative team member. John embodied the expression “Self-Made Man”. When John was twenty, he met his future bride Marian Stoffer. They were married in 1990 and had two amazing children Justin and Sydney (Noah Gapp). They will truly miss his guidance and strength. John had an immensely tight bond with his immediate family. They worked hard, played hard and enjoyed traveling together. Along with his loving wife and children, left to mourn the loss of this strong, supportive son, brother and uncle are Marian’s siblings and their families; Henka (Curt) Campbell, Hennie (Terry) Webster, Jane (Wally) McGarty and Hank (Tara) Stoffer. John was predeceased by his brother-in-law Gary (Gill) Stoffer. John’s family in Ontario also mourning his loss include his parents Bob and Shirley Voogel; his three brothers Roy (Patricia), Bruce (Kim) and Brian (Paula) and their extended families. Additionally, mourning the loss of this amazing man are his friends and coworkers. There are too many to name; but you know who you are and what John meant to each of you and what you meant to John. John passed away after a brief but hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in John’s memory be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada 36 Eglinton Ave W #508, Toronto, ON M4R 1A1.
