CHAN, John
Posted: November 24th, 2020JOHN MICHAEL CHAN, a former high school teacher, entrepreneur, artist, and resident of Lethbridge, AB passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2020 at the age of 72.
John is survived by his wife, Judy Chan (nee Lee); their children, Rylan (Molly) Chan, Jasmine (Wayne) Burton, and Jade (Michael) Goodman and 14 grandchildren; his sister Linda (Don) Lu, Steven Chan, and Lisa Chan and loved by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Lili Chan, and baby sister Chan.
John was a well-loved high school teacher in Raymond for nearly 30 years. He started multiple businesses and had a deep love of food and family. He was also a wonderful artist, best known for his many pointillism drawings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Temples. John was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many leadership capacities including two missions with his wife Judy to Hong Kong and New Brunswick.
A Viewing will take place on Tuesday, November 24 from 7:00-8:00pm at SALMON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME. Friends can also meet the family prior to the Funeral Service on November 25, 2020 from 10:00-10:45am at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS located at 2213 – 6 ‘A’ Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB. Please wait in your vehicle for a staff member to bring you inside, and please wear a mask.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held.
