She is also survived by three sisters Corrie Visser, Sally Torcher, Jean Donaldson and by numerous other relatives.
She was predeceased by her first husband Willie Kindt, her infant son Stephen, her parents, two grandsons and numerous relatives both in Canada and in Holland.
JoAnn was born in Zoetermeer, South Holland and immigrated to Canada with her parents and three sisters in 1947 after WWII where they settled in the Raymond area.
In 1975, JoAnn married Stanley Kent and moved to the farm east of New Dayton. During their time on the farm, JoAnn and Stan kept a big garden, enjoyed visiting with neighbours and made a beautiful home there.
JoAnn was passionate about music and sang with the Sweet Adelines Southern Accord Chorus for many years. Her love for music has influenced her children and grandchildren. JoAnn and Stan enjoyed square dancing together as well as camping in their RV.
JoAnn loved to prepare meals for family gatherings and holidays. Her delicious meals were always followed by the highly anticipated dessert “Gone with the Wind.” After dinner, she loved to share her travel videos with family and friends.
In 2001, JoAnn and Stan retired from farming and moved to Lethbridge where they spent many wonderful years together.
JoAnn lived a blessed life, full of love for her family and was especially devoted to her husband Stan. She will be missed, but we take comfort in knowing she is at peace.
