EMERY, Robert “Bob”
Posted: June 5th, 2026 ROBERT “BOB” EMERY 1936 – 2026 Robert “Bob” Emery passed away at his home in Lethbridge on May 25, 2026, one day shy of his 90th birthday. Born on May 26, 1936, Bob lived a long and meaningful life marked by service, friendship, and a deep commitment to his family and community.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Maxine Emery; his son, Richard Emery; and his daughter, Nancy Smith (Bruce Smith). Bob also leaves behind his grandchildren, Richard Emery and Michael Emery, as well as his great-grandson, Hayden, and great-great-granddaughter, Rosie.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Gertrude and Ted Emery; his daughter, Michele Jones; and his son-in-law, Brad Jones.
Bob’s life was defined by service to his community. He proudly served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1952 to 1955 before beginning a long career in telecommunications. He worked for Alberta Government Telephones from 1956 to 1967 and then with BC Tel from 1967 until his retirement in 2002. During those years, Bob made his home in Vancouver, British Columbia. Following his retirement, he returned to Lethbridge, where he purchased his first home and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
An active and dedicated member of several organizations, Bob was involved with Cascade Masonic Lodge No. 12, the Gizeh Shrine Club, the Royal Order of Jesters, and the Royal Canadian Legion, where he served on the Board of Directors and was a proud member of Gabriel’s Angels. He was especially passionate about his work with the Legion and the Shrine Club, where he formed many lasting friendships and devoted countless hours to supporting his community.
Bob will be remembered for his generosity, his dedication to the organizations he cherished, and the friendships he built throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to all those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
A Graveside Service and interment of Bob’s cremated remains will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Mountain View Cemetery.
