LAZARUK, Larry
Posted: July 8th, 2026 LAZARUK It is with immense sadness and broken hearts that the family of LARRY LAZARUK announce his passing on Thursday, July 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer in the St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit. He was surrounded by love and light from his family and friends in his final moments.
Larry was the most caring, devoted, and loving husband to his wife, Marg. He was also an incredibly proud and loving father to their children, Mike (Rebecca) Lazaruk and Pam (Brent) Banack. The births of his grandchildren – Ben, Hanna, Amiah, and Maelynn – became the center of his universe. Each of them held a special place in his beautiful heart.
Larry is also survived by his mom, Val LeGrandeur, and his loving brother, Greg (Barb) Lazaruk. He was predeceased by his father, Peter Lazaruk; his in-laws, Marg and Doug Jordan; his sister-in-law, Sharon Conley; his nephew, Shawn Lazaruk; and his stepfather, Ray LeGrandeur.
Born and raised on the north side of Lethbridge, Alberta, to Peter and Val, Larry embodied the values of dedication and perseverance from a young age. He approached every challenge with unmatched resilience and a tireless work ethic. Whether he was providing for his family or lending a hand to anyone in need, he took immense pride in everything he did to help others.
Beyond his strong work ethic, Larry will be remembered for his gentle heart and incredible humor. He was the cornerstone of our family – a man who listened without judgment, supported our dreams, and offered wisdom that always felt like a warm embrace. His quiet acts of kindness and infectious warmth brought light to anyone lucky enough to know him.
Larry lived his whole life on the north side of Lethbridge. He spent 31 years working for the Canadian Pacific Railway and absolutely loved the railroad. He took great pride in his work and was happiest when he was in the mountains. His passions in life were gardening, fishing, camping, and, of course, his family. He spent countless hours alongside Marg, Mike, Pam, and all of his grandchildren in his garden, and cheering them on at any and all events they were involved in.
A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 12:00 Noon with family officiant, Ralph Molyneux.
The Celebration will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Larry’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
