MALACKO, Stuart
Posted: July 10th, 2026 MALACKO STUART EVERETT MALACKO, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the age of 72 years.
Stuart was born June 17, 1954 in Lethbridge Alberta. He was the third of five children of Frances and Ernest Malacko. He had a life of hard work, innumerable long friendships and was always happy to lend a hand. At an early age he started lawn work and snow shoveling on Dieppe Blvd where everyone knew him and appreciated his sense of kindness and his work ethic.
After he completed school, he worked at the CPR on the line crew replacing track all over southern Alberta, the Lethbridge Hotel, Lillydale, Tamara Electric and Kodiak Plumbing and Heating. He reluctantly retired a few years after undergoing heart bypass surgery in 2013.
Stuart loved flea markets and garage sales, was a collector of Elvis Presley movies and music, baseball caps, and anything he thought might be useful for future use.
A lifelong cyclist Stuart rode his bike everywhere in the city. When meeting someone he hadn’t met before he always knew their relatives or friends in the city. He seemed to know everyone in Lethbridge from the 60’s onward. His passing was unexpected but peaceful.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Marilyn, Penny (Alfie) Brian and Murray (Barb) many cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces and his longtime friend and neighbour Cynthia Harris.
Beneath his gruff exterior, was a heart of gold. Those who knew him best understood his kindness and generosity. He will be missed.
At Stuart’s request no formal Funeral Service will be held. A Private Interment will occur at a later date.
