DUPONT, Dionne
Posted: July 17th, 2026 DIONNE MYRAE DUPONT July 29, 1983 ~ June 10, 2026 Our hearts are shattered as we announce the passing of our beloved Dionne Myrae Dupont following a tragic head-on motor vehicle collision on June 9, 2026, Dionne fought courageously for her life before peacefully passing away from her injuries on June 10, 2026, at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by the love of her family.
This beautiful baby girl was born on July 29, 1983, in Lethbridge, Alberta, the eldest child of Tammy Hall and Ernie Dupont. From the very beginning, Dionne had a gentle spirit, a compassionate heart, and a smile that could brighten any room. She grew into a caring daughter, loving sister, devoted mother, cherished aunty and loyal friend whose greatest joy came from making others feel loved.
Without question, Dionne’s greatest pride and purpose in life were her children, Brody, 19 and Taylor, 16. They were her entire world. Every decision she made, every sacrifice she willingly accepted, and every dream she held was centered around them. She never hesitated to put her own plans aside if it meant spending time with her children. They were her greatest accomplishment, her greatest joy, and the reason behind everything she did.
Growing up on an acreage near her grandparents’ farm south of Purple Springs, Dionne developed a love for country life at an early age. She loved following her dad Ernie around to “help” him with his projects in her overalls and babushka. in Some of her happiest childhood memories were made alongside her brother, Rane, riding horses, helping with the cattle, and spending countless hours in the barns preparing for bull sales and livestock shows. Rane was her best friend and helped her get into lots of childhood mischief. She also treasured family trips to St. Lazare, Manitoba, where she loved spending time with her mémére, pépére, and her father’s side of the family.
Dionne embraced life wholeheartedly. As a young girl, she loved dancing and competed in dance competitions with her friend Pam. She also loved skiing and snowboarding and often dreamed of one day owning a mountain chalet where she could spend winters with Brody and Taylor, making memories they would cherish forever.
After graduating from Medicine Hat College with a diploma in Accounting, Dionne worked in the banking industry for several years before eventually making Stirling her home. She later became a server at a local pub, where her warm smile, friendly personality, and incredible work ethic quickly made her a customer favourite. She worked hard, genuinely cared about people, and had a special way of making everyone who walked through the door feel welcome.
Although she built a successful career, those closest to Dionne knew one of her favourite jobs had been working part-time in a hair salon while attending college. Becoming a hairstylist was a dream she always hoped to pursue. Dionne’s life was not without its challenges. She faced more battles in her 42 years than many people experience in a lifetime. Yet she refused to let her past define her future. With incredible determination, courage, and an unwavering love for Brody and Taylor, she conquered obstacles that once seemed impossible. She worked tirelessly to rebuild her life as a single mom and create a future she was proud of – not only for herself, but for her children. After everything she had overcome, losing her just as she was looking ahead with renewed hope makes her passing all the more heartbreaking.
In recent years, Dionne discovered paddleboarding, and some of her happiest summer days were spent at Wally’s Beach with Brody and Taylor. Whether it was a day at the lake, a quiet evening at home, or simply laughing together, she treasured every moment with her children.
Dionne loved tending to her flower gardens and took immense pride in creating a beautiful, welcoming home for her little family. Christmas was her favourite time of year. She loved decorating every room, creating magical memories for Brody and Taylor, and she could never resist buying “just one more” gift for the people she loved. Bringing happiness to others brought happiness to her.
Seeing the ocean with Brody and Taylor was one of Dionne’s greatest dreams. While life did not grant her that opportunity, her family has made a promise that one day they will complete that journey together, fulfilling the dream she carried in her heart for so many years. As they stand at the water’s edge, they will know that Dionne is finally where she had always dreamed of being.
If you knew Dionne, you knew her heart. She was beautiful inside and out. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or quietly support someone who needed it. She had a special place in her heart for seniors, children, and animals. No stray animal that crossed her path was ever left uncared for. Her kindness wasn’t something she tried to show – it was simply who she was.
Even after her passing, Dionne continued to think of others. Through the extraordinary gift of organ donation, she was able to save the lives of six people. It was one final act of kindness from someone who spent her life putting others before herself – a lasting reflection of the loving, generous, and selfless person she had always been.
Although our hearts will never be the same, we find comfort in knowing that Dionne’s love lives on through Brody and Taylor, through the countless memories she gave us, and through the many lives she touched. That love did not end with her passing – it will remain with Brody and Taylor every day of their lives Her strength, compassion, and unwavering love will continue to guide all of us who were blessed to know her.
Dionne is lovingly remembered by her son, Brody, and daughter, Taylor; her mother, Tammy Hall; her father, Ernie Dupont (Nanette); her brother, Rane (Skye); her treasured nephew, Karbyn; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.
