WILLIAMS, JANE It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Williams, our beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the age of 63, surrounded by her loving family.
Jane was born in London, Ontario to Brian and Yvonne and relocated with Yvonne and older brother Brian when she was 10 years old to Alberta. Later in life she was blessed to have two more brothers, Christoper Lalibery, Micheal Potter and a sister, Carrie Potter.
When Jane was 14 years old, she was lucky enough to meet her soul mate Richard Williams in Lethbridge, Alberta. Rick and Jane were married in September 1983 and welcomed their first child Trista (Cameron Posegate) into the world soon after. A few short years later they welcomed their son Kyle (Jennifer White) and eventually settled in Coaldale, Alberta to raise their family. Rick and Jane worked hard and made sure to give Trista and Kyle everything they needed. The family has fond memories of camping at Beaver Mines, road trips, hockey and ringette tournaments, pets (Cooper, Louie and Sammy Jo) and many get togethers with friends and family. Jane was blessed with three grandsons (Slade, Stranton and Matthew) who were her pride and joy. She bragged to everyone and was so in love and so proud of the young men they are growing up to be. If asked she would also be sure to tell you all about her grand puppies (Arvo, Lumi, Moose and Mya) who she spoiled rotten with all the grandma cookies they could eat. Jane loved her family more than anything and welcomed her son in law and daughter in law with open arms. She was so proud to call them both her children and would brag about how wonderful they are.
Jane was a talented artist and found incredible joy from this passion. A lot of her work was landscapes she had visited and, in every piece, you can feel her joy and peaceful heart through every brush stroke. Through the years she was able to take part in a few art shows, sell her paintings and do some custom work.
Travel was also a passion that she had just begun to enjoy. Her favourite trips were to Europe with Rick, Kyle and Jenn and Hawaii with Trista, Cam and the boys. She was incredibly grateful to be able to share that experience with them and treasured the memories made.
She also enjoyed reading, music, yoga, drawing, golfing, kayaking, coffee and camping with dear friends. A highlight of every fall was the camping trip Rick and Jane would take to Beaver Mines Lake with their lifelong friends Rick and Donna.
The impact that Jane made to the world and the people around her can never be appropriately put into words. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for many years to come.
A drop in celebration of life and presentation of Jane’s artwork will be held:
September 12, 2026, at 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Coaldale Community Center In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Breast Cancer Canada, Amyloidosis Program of Calgary or your favourite local pet rescue in her memory.
