DOE, Linda
Posted: July 29th, 2026 DOE October 24, 1948 – July 18, 2026 LINDA MARIE DOE, of Nobleford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the age of 77 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Henry Doe; her sons, Leo (Rhonda) and Lionel (Kristi); her cherished grandchildren: Juliana, Jenna, Talia, Penelope, and Ramsay; her remaining siblings, Gail and Brian; and her beloved foster daughter, Doreen. Linda was also the eldest of her siblings and, from a young age, fiercely protected and helped raise her younger brothers and sisters.
Linda worked throughout her life as a cook, server, and bus driver, but she will be remembered most for the way she quietly cared for others. She never hesitated to help someone in need, whether preparing meals, volunteering, offering practical support, or simply showing up when someone needed a friend. She found it difficult to walk past anyone who was struggling without offering what she could, often giving freely to those less fortunate. She had a wonderful sense of humour, accepted people exactly as they were, and made others feel welcome wherever she went.
She was equally devoted to the animals entrusted to her care. She lovingly raised chickens, ducks, and geese, once patiently serving as midwife to a litter of thirteen piglets that likely would not have survived without her. Family and friends still marvel at the time she safely removed and relocated thirty-six skunks from beneath the family chicken coop – without harming a single one – a remarkable testament to her patience, courage, and respect for every living creature.
Linda became a mother while still very young and devoted her life to her family. No matter the challenges she faced, she met them with resilience, generosity, and unwavering love. One of her greatest joys was seeing her children and grandchildren together, and the kindness she showed to others continues to live on through them.
She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, quiet strength, hard work, humour, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honour Linda’s memory do so by helping someone in need, showing kindness to a neighbour, or extending compassion to an animal in her memory.
