DOYLE It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of an amazing lady, teacher, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. LORINE MARY DOYLE of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Francis Patrick Doyle, passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Friday, August 21, at the age of 96.
Lorine leaves to mourn her four children: Doug (Alyss) Doyle, Sheri (Dalton) Howe, Jack (Wilma) Doyle, and Greg (Sheryl) Doyle. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and their spouses, as well as numerous beloved great-grandchildren.
She is lovingly remembered by her half-brother, Bruce (Sharon) Kneiss; her step-brother, Bert (Diane) Kneiss; her half-sister, Marylyn (Harry) Van Ryzekyk; her special cousin, Harvey Dersch; her sisters-in-laws, Fay Doyle and Shirley Heal; and many other relatives and their families.
Lorine was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Mary Kneiss; her sister Gloria Bourassa, her special aunt and uncle, Rose and Walter Dersch; her special cousin, Loraine Collar; her brothers-in-law, Leo Bourassa, Joseph Doyle, Albert Heal, Larry Spring; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Spring.
Lorine was born in Calgary, Alberta, on March 5, 1930, to Mary and Peter Kneiss. Mary was the daughter of Giovanni and Sera Mensaghi, who immigrated from Italy in the early 1900’s and settled in the Fort Macleod area.
With the passing of their mother, Mary, in 1940, Lorine and her sister Gloria, moved from Calgary to the Fort Macleod area to live with their aunt and uncle, Rose and Walter Dersch.
On July 19th, 1952, Lorine married the love of her life, Francis Doyle. They moved to the Doyle Homestead south of Fort Macleod where they farmed and raised their family.
Lorine will be fondly remembered for her joy in playing cards (card shark), trips to the casino, strong Catholic Faith (70 Years Catholic Women’s League), independence, quick wit, but above all else, Lorine was devoted to her family. She found great pleasure in spending time with those she loved and was always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear and quiet encouragement.
Her strength, kindness and generous spirit touched the lives of many and will be remembered always.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Chinook Regional Hospital in 4A for their compassionate care they provided during Lorine’s final days.
