GOODFELLOW, Edie

GOODFELLOW It is with deep love and immense sadness that the family of EDIE GOODFELLOW announces the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mom and grandma in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Edie was born April 25, 1948, in Lethbridge Alberta, to Herbert and Stella Chambers. She was the oldest of three children along with one half brother.
After graduating high school in Lethbridge, Edie followed her adventurous spirit to Des Moines, Iowa, where she attended flight school and trained to become an Airline Stewardess. After about one year, she returned to Calgary and worked as a Legal Assistant for a prominent lawyer. It was during her time in Calgary that she met the love of her life, Chris. They married and shared 58 wonderful years together. They eventually settled in Pincher Creek, where they raised their two daughters, Dawn and Kim.
It was here that Edie began what would become a long and memorable career with Pincher Creek Fish & Wildlife. For 31 and a half years, she was so much more than the lady who sat behind the front desk. Edie’s desk was the Owl’s Perch. She was truly the heart of the office. She knew her officers, cared deeply about their well-being, and always knew where they were while out in the field. She made sure they were checked on and, most importantly, that they made it home safely at the end of their shift. Edie was an important part of that office and left a lasting impression on the people she worked alongside.
After retiring, Chris and Edie spent 14 wonderful summers at their second home in Sandpoint, Idaho. Those years gave so many special memories-not only with her husband and two girls, but with her grandchildren and many close friends. Our days were spent boating, waterskiing, fishing and shopping, with some of the best moments being the long, relaxing days gathered together on their deck. These are memories that will be treasured forever.
Our Mom was a strong, loving and remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many through her kindness, warmth and genuine joy. She was the matriarch of our family, and her absence has left a tremendous emptiness that words cannot express.
Mom fought an incredible battle with a strength, courage and determination that never ceased to amaze us. We are so incredibly proud of her and the strength she showed throughout her journey. She fought with everything she had, surrounded by the love of her family.
Thank you, Mom, for a lifetime of love, laughter, memories and lessons. Thank you for being our Mom, the heart of our family. We will cherish you, and carry the memories you gave us in our hearts forever.
Edie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Chris; her daughters, Dawn (Jon) and Kim (Richard); cherished grandchildren: Shelby, Dawson, Christopher, and Lauren; grand puppy Lizzy and her special fur baby Piper.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the VERTICAL CHURCH, 1200 Ken Thornton Blvd., Pincher Creek, AB, on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Aaron Kauffman officiating. And when you come to celebrate with us, please bring your giggles as Edie would want nothing less.
In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca) on behalf of our Mom.
