FREDRICK GLENN THOMSON March 8, 1960 – September 17, 2026 Fredrick Glenn Thomson passed away on September 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Fred was a husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor, but those words alone hardly contain the life he lived. He was truly larger than life.
He loved the mountains, horses, wild places and wild things, and he built a life around them. He spent his life in country most people will never see, doing things most people will only ever read about. He lived hard, loved deeply, collected more stories than could ever be told, and somehow fit a thousand lifetimes into sixty-six years.
The measure of Fred was never only where he had been or what he had done. It was the people he took with him. He taught by taking you along. A horse beneath you, a mountain ahead of you, a long day behind you, and somewhere along the way a lesson had been passed from the old man to the boy without anyone needing to say so.
Fred leaves behind his wife, Beverly; his son, Ben Thomson and his wife Rebecca, and their children Ella, Hunter and Luke; and his daughter, Melissa Beck and her husband Cole, and their children Teddy and McKinley.
He was gone far too soon, but Fred did not leave much life unlived.
He will be missed beyond words, remembered in countless stories, and carried forward by the family and friends who were fortunate enough to share the trail with him.
