BEVERLY BARNES (NÉE FORTH) 1953 ~ 2026 Beverly Anne Barnes née Forth, 72, our beautiful, loving mother, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bev was born on October 20, 1953, in Chatham, New Brunswick, to Thomas and Nettie Forth. Her father worked for the air force, so her younger years took her all over Canada, but she graduated high school and started her adult life and family in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She moved to Lethbridge in 1977, where she raised her children, gained many friendships, served her community, and spent most of her remaining years there. Her hard work and organization helped her to excel in various jobs in business administration, from post-secondary education to farming and agriculture.
She loved sports, travelling, and serving in her church and community; she cared deeply and always saw the best in all people. Bev loved her family more than anything; they gave her joy, and she treasured every moment with them.
Bev is survived by her husband, Calvin Barnes; mother, Nettie Forth; sister, Linda Forth; brother, Brian Forth (Doris); children Kelly Gunness (Tina), Cory Gunness (Robyn), Kristy Rolph (Ben), and Jaclyn Teyke (Roy); 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Bev was predeceased by her father, Thomas Forth, and grandparents.
Bev will be remembered for her loving heart, her adventurous spirit, her forgiveness, her laughter, and the tremendous love she had for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at MOUNTAIN HEIGHTS CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS – 175 Rocky Mountain Boulevard West, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Bishop Larry Bester officiating.
