1943 – 2026
With tender hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Helen Wall in Lethbridge on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at the age of 82 years.
Helen is survived by her siblings Ike (Louise) Wall of Mill Bay, British Columbia, Mary Giesbrecht of Winkler, Manitoba, Betty Derksen of Taber, Henry (Donna) Doell of Calgary, Martha Wall of Taber, Jake (Bonnie) Wall of Taber and Margaret (Clarence) Hood of St. Brieux, Saskatchewan.
She was predeceased by her mother Katrina Wall, father John Wall, step-mother Tina Wall; siblings Eva Thiessen, Aggie Mykytiw, Abe Wall, Mary Howes and Ernie Wall; brothers-in-law Henry Giesbrecht, Dave Dersken, John Thiessen and Jerry Howes; sister-in-law Dianne Wall.
Though she spoke only the precious word “Mama,” Helen expressed her love in her own beautiful way, through her joyful laughter, gentle spirit and radiant smile. She adored her mother, who travelled a long way to visit her whenever she could, and their special bond remained a cherished part of Helen’s life.
One of thirteen children, Helen was deeply loved by her twelve siblings and held a special place in our family’s hearts. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, her stuffed animals, a warm cup of coffee and especially ice cream.
Helen’s laughter and beautiful smile brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew her. Though her life was quiet, the love she gave and received was profound. She will be remembered with great tenderness and missed more than words can say. Helen is now at peace and reunited with her beloved momma. Rest peacefully, dear Helen. Your smile will live on in our hearts forever.
For nearly sixty years, Helen was lovingly cared for by many wonderful caregivers. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Edith Cavell Care Home. Their kindness, patience and love made them much more than caregivers, they became like family to Helen and to all of us.
