FEKETE After 95 years living at home and a very brief illness, LESLIE “LES” JOHN FEKETE quietly passed away early on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Les will be missed by his children Glenn Fekete and Christina Audet (Roy); his grandchildren Daniel, Adrian, Jesse and Josie; as well as great-grandchildren, Lillian, Evie and Maxy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Les was predeceased by all of his immediate family as well as his youngest son, Laurence Fekete (2005).
Born in Barnwell in 1931, Les grew up in a variety of Alberta small towns but, as soon as he was able, Les found work and travelled around the world. Eventually Les settled in Calgary to raise his children and later moved to Lethbridge where he owned and managed a glass shop. Les liked to cook, garden and was once a bee-keeper. No matter what challenge life threw his way, Les was always very positive and he will be remembered by all as a friendly, caring, and kind man.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the CRH staff in Emergency and on 3rd floor for the compassionate care during a difficult time.
Les asked that there be no Funeral Service. However, the family will hold a private Ceremony in honour of a long life well-lived.
