SIMANTON, Vernon

VERN SIMANTON 1939 ~ 2026 Vernon Leroy Simanton of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at St. Mike’s on October 29, 2026, at the age of 87.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
Vern married the love of his life, Vallerie Olsson on July 12, 1962. They were inseparable doing everything together. Shortly after marrying, they moved to the family farm in Foremost. Vern was blessed with a son, Brad, and daughter, Holly.
Vern’s life was very full and busy with farming and keeping up with Brad and Holly. From hockey and figure skating, golf, camping, and waterskiing, checkers, cards, coffee and happy hours.
The adventures continued for many years. Travelling progressed from campers to motorhomes to the park model then on to cruises.
Beside his loving wife Vallerie, of 64 years, Vern is survived by his son Brad (Jeanne). His grandchildren, Kayla, Braden, Brooklynn, and Tanner. His great-grandchildren, Nathan, Blake, and Kyle. Sister Shirley (Richard), sisters-in-laws Edie, Ann, and Merlo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Vern was predeceased by his parents Ed and Hazel, daughter Holly; brothers Ron, Bob, and Ray; sister-in-law Raydene and brother-in-law Lonnie.
While we lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, many have lost a friend.
Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
