1919 ~ 2012
Marjorie Noyes passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2012, with family at her side, two days before her ninety-third birthday.  Marjorie was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1919.  She spent her early years in Creston and her school years in Idaho and Colorado.  Upon her return to Canada, Marjorie worked in Waterton and Banff National Parks.  She instilled this love of the mountains with her family.   She married Noel Noyes in Lloydminster in 1950. They farmed in Lloydminster, Priddis, and Innisfail, and then retired to White Rock.  After Noel’s passing, Marge returned to Red Deer and then settled in Medicine Hat.  Marge loved painting, photography, gardening, traveling, writing and family gatherings.  It was with Noel that Marge loved spending the winter in Quartzite, AZ, with quick stops in Las Vegas. Travel was based around their life hobby of rock hunting and their lapidary business.  Marge is survived by her children:  James Noyes, Kathleen Noyes, and Meridith (Richard) Van Maarion;    six grandchildren: Lesley (Brent) Hamilton, Jesse (Ashley) Van Maarion, Megan (Jared) Wever, Emily Van Maarion, Elisha Noyes and Jocelyn Noyes.  great- grandchildren: Elizabeth, Bergen and Saige Hamilton;  Montana Britain Van Maarion and Sophia and Mila Wever;  one great-great-grandchild, Weston Maidens.  She was predeceased by her husband, Noel; her mother, Louise Ivie;  step-father, Robert Ivie; and brother, Robert Ivie Jr.  Marge’s final years were spent at South Country Village where she became part of the Sunnyside family, loved and cared for by the staff.   A family celebration will be held at a later date.  (Condolences may be expressed by visiting  Honoured to serve the family is Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13th Street S.W.   Medicine Hat, Alberta   T1A 4V4  Phone 403-527-6455
