1924 – 2016
Mrs. Eva Gloslie (nee Van Maarion) passed away in the Sunnyview Care Centre at South Country Village, Medicine Hat on Monday, November 28, 2016, at the age of 92 years. Eva is survived by her brothers, Leonard (Caroline) Van Maarion and Jack (Ella) Van Maarion; nephews, Richard (Merideth), Ron (Wendy), Brent, Murray (Karen), Craig, Todd (Natalie) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews. Eva was predeceased by her husband, Jack in 2013; her devoted twin sister, Evelyn Entzminger in May of this year and her niece, Vicki Lynn (Shane) Leuck in 2014. Eva grew up on the ranch south of Seven Persons. In 1952, she married Jack Gloslie of Blaine, Washington, making their home there for most of her years. She loved living close to the ocean and was a beloved citizen of Blaine. Christmas was a busy time of year for Eva as she baked for many town workers and members of the community. Her extended family from the prairie made many trips to enjoy the seaside with Eva as their tour guide. Eva loved the annual salmon fishing trip that she and Jack took to the furthest tip of Washington’s coast. Together, they also had many fond memories of touring the United States in their motorhome. The family would like to thank the staff at South Country Village for the compassion and care provided to Eva. She will be laid to rest in Bellingham, Washington when spring arrives and the tulips are in bloom.
