PATRICIA ANN PHILLIPS
Posted: May 2nd, 2017Mrs. Patricia Ann Phillips (nee Langille), passed away surrounded by her family, on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the age of 72 years. Pat is survived by loving husband of 48 years, Bill; son, Lash (Jody) Phillips; daughter, Nicole (Frances) Carrier and her cherished granddaughters, Dakota Carrier and Treslie Phillips all of Medicine Hat, Alberta. She also leaves behind sisters, Bessie (Denny) and Marlene; brothers Jim and Vaughn; special Aunt Dorothy as well as numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Pat was born on April 9, 1945 in Springhill, Nova Scotia to Mike and Irene Langille. She graduated from Oxford Regional High School and went on to complete a degree at the Halifax Auxiliary School of Nursing. She married Bill Phillips after meeting him in 1969 in the Yukon. After spending a few years living in Calgary, AB. and Fort St. John, BC., they settled down in Medicine Hat. They opened several businesses over the years such as Bill’s Equipment Rentals and Pat’s Touch of Country gift store. Pat always had a flair for crafts and went on to win several awards for top floral design during her time with Michael’s Crafts and Gifts. Pat and Bill could often be found at their cabin at 40 Mile Park, which they spent many years enjoying. They always had a soft spot for cats and their current cat, Micah even visited with Pat during her final weeks at St. Joseph’s Home. Above all, she cherished her time being Nana to her granddaughters. A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street SW., Medicine Hat, on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat’s life. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Pat’s name can be made directly to the Medicine Hat SPCA, 55 Southwest Drive SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 8E8. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice and Alberta Health Palliative Care for their care, kindness and dedication that they showed for Pat and all of her family.
