It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of ADELA MABEL DIETERLE, at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the age of 84 years after a brief illness.

Adela is survived by her brother-in-law Paul Michaud of High River, AB, sisters-in-law Joyce Neigam of Medicine Hat, AB, Gladys Dieterle of Medicine Hat, AB and Edna Dieterle of Burstall, SK as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Adela was predeceased by her husband James Dieterle, sisters Ruth (Tony) Puhl, Evelyn (Alan) Cowie, Alice (Charlie) Halstead, Sylvia Michaud and her parents Carl and Marie Lindwall, who immigrated to Canada from Bornholm, Denmark.

Adela was born on March 1, 1933 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and was the youngest of five daughters. She lived on the family farm in Burdett, AB, until moving as a young teenage girl to Lethbridge, where she worked at the Galt Hospital with her sister Ruth Puhl.

Adela then moved to Redcliff, AB, where she met and married her husband, James Dieterle. There, she also started her career at the Redcliff Glass Factory, where she eventually retired as a supervisor in 1999.

Adela’s many hobbies included cross-stitching, crocheting, ceramics and a variety of volunteer roles with the church and the Redcliff Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Adela always made herself available to anyone in need of help or assistance and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her loyal coffee groups.

A Memorial Service will be held at the GORDON MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH, 401 – 2 Street S.E. SS 2, Redcliff, AB, on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with a luncheon to follow at the REDCLIFF LEGION, 302 Broadway Avenue West, Redcliff, AB.
