ERNEST KELLER
Posted: May 29th, 2018Oct 30, 1927-May 23, 2018
After a full life Ernest Keller passed away peacefully at the age of 90. He was born in Switzerland and shortly after marrying Erna, moved to Medicine Hat. He spent many years working as a butcher for Safeway and then moved on to become a commercial beekeeper with some 600 hives. Many people in Medicine Hat will remember coming to the family home to get their fresh honey. He loved his fishing and shared a passion for gardening with his wife. He and Erna moved to Lacombe in their latter years to be closer to their son and after 61 years of marriage, Erna predeceased Ernest in 2016. He will always be remembered for his gentleness, his joking, his honesty and integrity. He leaves behind a legacy of love for his family and friends. He is survived by his son Ron (Deanna) of Lacombe and their children- Matthew (Amy) Keller, Adam (Christy) Keller, Anna (Jonathon) Gillingham, Chad Gouw, Justin (Melissa) Gouw, and Brittany Gouw AND Anita (Mark) Worrell of Australia and their children Brad (Shevaun) Worrell, Kathleen (Michael) Harris and Angeline Worrell. He has 5 great grandchildren- Brady and Claire Keller, Thea Gillingham and Lilyanna and Luca Harris. A special thank you to his doctors and the staff at Royal Oak Village and Lacombe Hospital. He always appreciated your help. He will be missed by many but we are glad he now has his rest with the Lord. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Lacombe Pentecostal Church. Condolences may be made by visiting www.wilsonsfuneralchapel.ca
