1930 ~ ALICE HAAS ~ 2018
Posted: August 7th, 2018Alice Haas, beloved wife of Ephraim Haas of Medicine Hat, passed away at Masterpiece Southlands Meadows on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Alice also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Joyce (Dave) McNaughton, Dale (Karen) Haas; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Haas and their families. Her 7 grandchildren and their spouses and the 9 great grandchildren children all adored their Grandma for her gentle ways, warm love, generosity and caring, as each one was so special to her. Her numerous nieces and nephews as well as the Haas In-laws all appreciated this wonderful lady.
She was predeceased by: her son, Wade Haas; her parents, William and Mary Bischke; her sister and brother-in-law, Leah and Herb Ginther; her brother and sister-in-law, Reuben and Agnes Bischke; and sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Don Kanewischer. She was also predeceased by her parents in law, Adam and Tillie Haas.
Alice was born on May 26, 1930 in Medicine Hat and grew-up on the farm near Elkwater. As a young adult she moved to Medicine Hat where she met Ephraim Haas and they were married December 30, 1950. They lived in Hilda until they moved to Medicine Hat in 1960 where Ephraim and Alice were involved in the automotive industry.
Alice was interested in people, was hospitable and gracious, with her home always available for any celebration, she was a fabulous cook and baker. There was always room for one more at the table. Alice had lovely taste not only for food but also for decorating and clothes. She was a meticulous housekeeper and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. She was always learning and reading and found the computer a great hobby and hours of enjoyment as she prepared her own greeting cards and photo cards to share with others.
She and Ephraim loved to travel over the years often with family or friends and they have many pictures and artifacts to show for their trips
She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and had a big heart for couples serving as Missionaries and Pastors. We are comforted by knowing she is now in Heaven and is reunited with those who have gone before. She suffered with the effects of Alzheimer’s the last 5 years but her sweet spirit often shone through with her winning smile and sparkling eyes. She is free of pain and sorrow and now dwells where the roses never fade.
We are so grateful for the loving care she received in the 3 care facilities she experienced during this journey.
