HERB GEDDES 1937~ 2023 Herbie Nelson Geddes of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, August 4th, 2023, at the age of 85 years, beloved husband of the late Edith May Geddes. He leaves to cherish his memory five children; Sandi Burdett (Peter McWilliams) of Branford, Ontario, Beverly (Wade) Barr of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Donna (Gene) Diment of Irvine, Guy (Tina) Geddes of Medicine Hat and Cheryl (Dean) Kopperud of Medicine Hat; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one sister June McPherson of Edmonton, Alberta. Dad was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Genevieve Geddes and grandson Benjamin Martin. Dad was born on December 15, 1937 in Lancer, Saskatchewan. He spent his early years growing up in Lancer then moved to Medicine Hat in 1942. As a teenager, he was a lifeguard at several city pools. At the age of 17, he joined the RCMP and was stationed throughout Canada. Fondest memories being highlighted at St. John’s, Newfoundland, Regina, Saskatchewan, and Stonewall, Manitoba before retiring in 1980. He then continued his career with the Alberta Government in various positions. Dad enjoyed many activities through the years such as playing numerous sports, attending Tiger’s hockey games, camping, hunting, and playing cards with family. Dad had a witty sense of humour, and he will be greatly missed. The funeral service will be held at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating.
