WADE BERTRAM 1960 ~ 2025
Wade Kenneth Bertram, beloved husband of Laurie Bertram of Piapot, SK, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 65 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Laurie Bertram; his three children, Brady (Jimmie Jean) Bertram, Kylie (Dean) Mackie and Casey (Dano) Bertram and his six grandchildren, Sawyer, Layton, Mia, Ava, Rio and Chett.
Wade was born in Maple Creek on October 7,1960. He was the middle son to Ward and Rhoda Bertram.
He attended school in Piapot and later in Maple Creek. After high school Wade worked various jobs. He went to work as a pasture rider for both Gerry Flannery and Glen Purves. Wade loved cowboying, and he was always happiest if he was on a good horse amongst good cattle and in good company.
Wade and Laurie were married on May 17, 1986. They moved back to Bear Creek where they started their own ranch, first with Wards, then on our own. Then came along their family, Brady in 1988, and Casey and Kylie in 1989. Wade was his kids biggest supporter and cheerleader. No matter what!
Wade was a rancher/cowboy at heart. Hereford and Red Angus cattle were his pride and joy.
Hockey played a large part in who Wade was, he played for many years and also coached for a lot of years. When the kids started to play, he could tell you which rink had the best burgers and pie. In later years, Wade strapped the skates back on and he played with the Old Timers in Maple Creek, this brought him great joy!
When the grandkids started to play, he was back at the rink again! Again, he was their biggest supporter and cheerleader. Rodeo also played a large part in Wade’s life. He had many lifelong friendships which he cherished dearly.
Wade had one message for those left behind, “Enjoy every day because you never know what tomorrow might bring.”
The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. (CST) at the Maple Creek Armoury in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. The service will be live streamed.
