SHIRLEY MORTER
Posted: December 12th, 2025 1940 ~ SHIRLEY MORTER ~ 2025 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Morter, formerly of Maple Creek, SK, on December 6, 2025. She left quietly in her sleep, at River Ridge Seniors Village, Medicine Hat, AB, a few days before her 85th birthday. Shirley was born December 15, 1940, on the family homestead north of Tompkins, SK, to Eileen and Oscar Lecuyer. She was the 9th of 10 children. She was a strong, independent woman who lived her entire life for her family, raising two sons, Brian and David. To them she was a patient, loving mother with incredible inner strength and an unfaltering dedication to their wellbeing. In later years she would be blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her sons, Brian (Ann) Ladouceur of Pennant, SK, and David (Marie) Morter of Medicine Hat, AB; Brian’s four children and grandchildren, Danielle Nickel (Kevin), Christina Ladouceur (Mark Leisle) with Ayden, Taliyah and Owen, Mario Ladouceur (Chantelle Chabot) with Barrett, stepson, Ian Langstaff (Melissa); David’s three daughters and grandchildren, Sarah Antosh (Mitch) with Beckham and Scottie, Meaghan Morter (Zach Briggs), Emma Morter. Shirley is also survived by her youngest sister, Gail Sharp of Medicine Hat, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along the road of suffering, you found a little lane That took you up to Heaven and ended all your pain.
