MAGDALENA ERESMAN 1930 ~ 2026

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Lena Eresman, at Meadowlands on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the age of 96 years.  Lena is lovingly remembered by her five children, Elaine Steinkey, Marlene Kurtz, Stanley Eresman (Cheryl), Sharon Kolomeitz (Albert) and Mary Dirk (Merlin); her 19 grandchildren; her 37 great grandchildren, with one more on the way; and three great great grandchildren; her brother Leonard Miller; her sister, Violet Fischer; her brother-in-law, George Costea; her sisters-in-law, Loretta Miller and Clara Eresman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Nick Eresman; her parents, Frank and Florentina Miller; her brothers, John, Jack, David, Frank, and Valentine; her sisters, Veronica, Magdalena, Christina Resch and Susan Costea; Lena’s in-laws, Clements and Magdalena; all of Nick’s siblings; her sons-in-law, Rudy Steinkey, Harry Kurtz and one great granddaughter, Brielle.  Lena was the eighth child of twelve raised on the family farm near Fox Valley.  Due to the large family, Lena was required to quit school in grade six to help her mother with the rest of the family.  Lena was a very gentle, faith filled lady who taught more by example than words.  She loved her family and did not miss out on any special occasion. She was deeply loved by her grandchildren and they cherished every moment spent with her.  Lena was a very talented lady and made all kinds of crafts, loved gardening, cooking and baking.  Every person who came to visit was warmly welcomed.  Her home and heart were open to everyone.  Lena’s obituary photo was taken one hour prior to her passing.  She will be deeply missed.  Those who wish to pay their respects may do so in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Monday, May 18, 2026, beginning at  6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the HOLY FAMILY PARISH from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating.  The funeral mass will be celebrated in the HOLY FAMILY PARISH on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Fr.
