SHIRLEY GAFFNEY

1939 ~ SHIRLEY GAFFNEY ~ 2026 Shirley Gaffney, of Medicine Hat, passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 86 years. Born in Eatonia, Saskatchewan, she moved to Alberta as a teenager. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra, of Calgary, and was predeceased by her son, Myles. Shirley was the youngest of eight children, including sisters Tracey of Vernon and Emmy of Saskatoon. She is remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews. She spent many happy years with her partner, Leroy, and his family. She enjoyed golf, curling and the rodeo circuit. She was a passionate bridge player, priding herself on achieving Grand Master status. Playing bridge, she treasured the time with her good friends, including Marnie and Mona, who were at her side during her final days. At Shirley’s request, no memorial service will be held.
