BARBARA STUBER 1940 ~ 2026

Barbara Joyce Stuber of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Marvin Stuber, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 86 years.  Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Carol (Michael) Dell and Sandra (Warren) Jans; her seven grandchildren, Vanessa Stewart and her children Taylor Ann, AnnaLeigh and Mason; April (Corey) Hopfner and their children, Everett and Cassian; Rebecca (Shaun) Dunlop and their daughter, Ava; Brad (Amberly) Dell; Lisa Jans (Dillon Fauser) and their son, Lemmy; Tracy (Kyle) Konynenbelt and their children, Kade, Kacey and Kash; and Carla Jans; her brother, Robert (Yoka) Redekop and their family, and her nephew, Calvin Weinberger (Rhonda).   She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin Stuber on August 1, 2024.Barbara was born on May 12, 1940, in Herbert, Saskatchewan and lived on a farm near Glen Kerr, Saskatchewan. Growing up she was involved in 4H and raised calves.  When she was 15 years old, she moved with her family to Coaldale, Alberta.  The family bought land west of Medicine Hat and built the farm from the ground up.  Marvin and Barbara were married on October 25, 1958, and moved to the Stuber farmstead south of Seven Persons. Together they farmed, raised their girls and drove school bus.  Barbara was a loving and caring homemaker, an avid gardener, and loved hosting family get togethers and card parties.  She was a member of the Red Rock Ladies Aide for 64 years.   Barbara liked to keep busy by working part time jobs, in a bowling league, travelling and meeting friends for lunch at Argo’s.  As an active member of Victory Lutheran Church for many years, she played piano and sang in the choir and volunteered at the Good Samaritan by playing hymns once a month.  Despite battling dementia, she continued to dance and play piano.  Barbara was an amazing person who loved helping people, laughing and always had a smile on her face!

Thank you for the wonderful care that was given by the staff of the Good Samaritan South Ridge Village Cottages to Barbara.  Those who wish to pay their respects may do so one hour prior to the service.  The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dallas Hjorth officiating.  The service will be live streamed.  Those who wish to attend virtually, please visit Barbara’s obituary page on our website for the link.  A private family interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery.  Those who wish to remember Barbara with a donation, may do so to the Dementia Care Unit at Good Samaritan Society (550 Spruce Way SE, Medicine Hat, AB, T1B 4P1).   To leave a message of condolence you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com.
